We woke up at 515am this morning to get to Petra for sunrise. Was probably the best decision we ever made. Getting up that early was not fun but when we arrived there was hardly anyone around. We hopped on some horses for the first part of the walk in. You then walk through some amazing canyons until you arrive at the "treasury" the most famous ruin from Indiana Jones and Transformers. We were soooo excited when we arrived and there were only two other people there. As we were getting ready to leave the treasury a fellow came by with 2 camels. We decided to give a little cash and get some pictures before the crowds arrived. We continued through the ruins for 4.5 hours. We hiked up to the "monetary" another incredible ruin 800 meters up some stairs. Again whenwe arrived there was only a few other people and we had it to ourselves. When we finally decided to turn around and head back to the hotel we ran into tons of people. I am pretty sure Lindsey and I both had huge grins on our faces because we were walking back through crowds of people and just hours before we had it all to ourselves. We finally left Petra around noon and started on drive down to Aqaba on the Red Sea.

Wonder # 6 - Petra
We left Madaba yesterday after a quick breakfast we hit the road and got there about 4 hours later. It was an uneventful afternoon, wondered around the town of Petra a little, sat by the pool for a bit and had a power nap. We decided we would eat at the buffet for dinner at our hotel. We should know better than to eat at a buffet, it was less than satisfactory.

Tomorrow we are heading out to do a couple of dives. We are super excited as we have heard nothing but good things about diving here.
