We went out for that Brazilian BBQ dinner our last night in Rio. Lindsey found a place that was recommended on Trip Advisor. We headed over that way not sure what to expect. It was incredible. The buffet was "just filler" but had some good stuff in it. The waiter gives you a little coaster that is green on one side and red on the other. If you want meat you flip it to green. If you don't want meat you flip it to red, but it doesn't matter they still try to give you meat. We had several cuts of beef, Lindsey's favourite was the the "baby cow" aka veal, it was amazing. We also had several parts of the chicken, including hearts, turkey, pork, alligator, lamb, sausage and maybe some other things we weren't to sure. It was sooo delicious. The waiters came by with the big skewers of meat and cut it right in front you, steaming hot!
The next morning we headed to Arraial Do Cabo, a "2-3hr" bus ride that took 4 hours. We arrived and to our surprise there were hurricane winds blasting sand all over the city! Apparently during the winter months it is windy but usually not in this late in October. We still managed to watch the sunset and found a place to eat which is not that easy during non peak season, we ordered an amazing paella that could have fed a family of 4 easy. The next morning we were up bright and early, still fighting the wild winds we walked across town to the dive shop that we had booked at. We headed out and unfortunately because of the wind our choices of places to dive were limited. We dove at an island named Ihla Do Porcos. We did 2 dives and although it wasn't the best diving we did we enjoyed it. Lindsey suffered a little as the water temperature was only 20C.
The next day were woken up at 6am to marching band music and fireworks and best of all no wind. Lindsey was more motivated and went for a run right away. I was slower to get out of bed but eventually went for a long run on the beach. I was told by a local the beach is 56km long!!!! It was absolutely gorgeous. We had breakfast and hung out by the pool for a little bit and then headed to the beach where we hung out all day drinking Caprihanha's and beer and had a snack of fried sea bass. That night we ate at our hotel Caminho del Sol. The hotel was great and food was even better. The next morning we were up bright and early as we had to start our adventure to Rome. We had a quick breakfast and hopped on the bus back to Rio, it took 4 hours because of some heavy traffic and then we had a 4 hour wait in the airport. We hopped on the plane which stunk really bad, (like shit and urine) don't recommend TAP air, the planes are less than comfortable. We were stuck on that plane for nearly 10 hours but both managed to get some sleep. We hung out at the Lisbon airport for a couple of hours before boarding our last flight to Rome.
We arrived at our little apartment in trastevere, it is a great little place in a great location. We quickly showered and headed out for some food. Right next door was a restaurant that was busy so we sat down, we had 2 pizzas and a 1/2 litre of wine for 11euros!!!!! We then decided to go wander around a bit, found a place to have gelato which was AMAZING! We figured after that we better get a bottle of wine and update our blog so we stopped at the store bought a really expensive bottle of wine called "assolo" for 4euros and here we are. Just waiting to go out and have our second dinner of the night, at 8pm... can't wait for some pasta!!

Are Caprihanha's like mojitos...? they look similar...
