The End Of Peru

We ended up having to skype the travel agent in Cuzco to let him know his partner Fernando never showed up with our bus tickets back to Cuzco. Ten minutes later Fernando walked through the door of our hotel, it was a big relief cause neither of us wanted to have re-book the tickets. We headed out for dinner and stopped at a restaurant that was supposed to have "cuy" or guinea pig, unfortunately after ordering a bottle of wine we were told they did not have cuy. We stayed for dinner anyways and it was the only bad meal we had all trip. In the morningwe hopped on the bus had headed back to Cuzco, an uneventful 7 hour ride.

We didn't do much other than some shopping, which we bought very little and wandered around looking for a deal on Pisco Sours, a local drink made with pisco, lime, raw egg and ice. Eventually we found a place and the rumours of how good they were, were true. We eventually found a place that had cuy so we stopped in for dinner. We ended up ordering a 2 person Andean BBQ, it came with 1/4 cuy, 2 lamb chops, some fried trout, a deep fried bell pepper stuffed with beef, peas, cheese and spices, alpaca steak, some beef heart and kidneys on a skewer and potatoes. Along with this we got some amazing spicy dipping sauce. Oh, and how can I forget, 2 free pisco sours!!!! We were both a little skeptical the meal would be good, but we were pleaseantly surprised. The star of the BBQ was the alpaca steak but everything else was good as well.

All in all Peru has been incredible, the people amazing, the scenery beautiful and the food delicious. Peru was full of surprise and we had a fantastic time here.
